He was predeceased by : his parents, William Edward "Ed" Belvin and Nancy Sutton Belvin. He is survived by : his wife Bettye Hicks Belvin; his children, Michael Belvin (Allison) of Gibsonville and Michelle Aldridge (Scott) of Yanceyville; his stepchildren, Danny Howard (Lisa) of Burlington and Sharmin Hodge (Barry) of Gibsonville; his sister Melba Belvin Allison of Gibsonville; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Truitt (Hunter), Alayna Belvin, Zachary Andrews, Jackie, Jaydun Belvin, Shannah Lyons, Clint Lyons (Sunny), Tara Overman (Dustin) and Philip Howard (Jill); his great grandchildren, Mason, Logan, Cayden, Emma Jaxon, Baby Boy, James, Graham, Colin and Reid; and his nieces, Natasha Soddy and Jamie Parker. He is also survived by numerous cousins, other family and friends.

Carol Carkin wrote a sympathy message

“My name is Pastor Carol Carkin of Gibsonville UMC. I was sorry to hear of Ed’s passing and regret that in my short time as pastor here I did not get the chance to know him. I am out of town Monday or would attend the service. Since Ed is on our membership roll we will have a carnation on the altar Sunday in his memor,y.
