He was predeceased by: his parents, Arland Durbin and Mary Durbin; his brother-in-law Dave Karnofel; and his former wife Lola. He is survived by: his wife Iris Reen Swindle (Durbin); his children, Derek Durbin (Allison) and Nicole Durbin (Nikki); his grandchildren, Zachary Durbin, Brooke Durbin and Brock Durbin; his stepchildren, Kendra Beatty Reddish (Scott), Jens Beatty (Nicole), Jamin Beatty (Katy), Quinn Newland (Shannon), Zachary Newland and Brother Gene Durbin (Brenda) of Ohio; and his sisters, Judy Pawinski of North Carolina and Brenda. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The military honors will be held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Cherokee United Methodist Church (21 Echota Mission Dr, Cherokee, NC 28719).
