With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Edwards Mills of Whittier, North Carolina, who passed away on June 16, 2025 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though James Edwards may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those James Edwards touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Junior Mills and Vivian Edwards Mills of Greenville, NC.. He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his children, Chris (Jennifer) and Marissa (Bronson); and his grandchildren, Jordan (Cam) and Emery.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 13th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Bryson City First Baptist Church (37 Church Ave, Bryson City, NC 28713). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
