Leo James Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Leo James of Whittier, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 3, 2025 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Rollie James and Sarah James; his stepfather Barney Collier; and his sister Esther Collier. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Faye Dunlap; his sons, Rollie (Beth) and Christopher (Piret); his grandchildren, Hannah, Samantha, Ethan, Jargo, Emma, Tristan and Allegra; and his sisters, Sallie Watson, Rachael Parrish (Larry) and Eleanor Echols (Renza). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Sylva First Baptist Church (669 W Main St, Sylva, NC 28779). A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 15th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
