He is survived by: his wife Donna Thompson (Gurganious); his children, Kerry Lynn Thompson, Robert Allen Thompson and Elizabeth Ann Thompson; his grandson Noah Robert Thompson; his nieces, Jennifer Thomas, Maegan Bryner and Kotone West; and his pets, Cooper, Jaejun, Boba, Celine, Nandor, Nutty, Dasher, Annie, Bridge and Penny.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to P.A.W.S. Animal Shelter in Bryson City, North Carolina, in his honor.
