She was predeceased by : her parents, Robert Eugene and Edna Earl Riggs Mazingo; her granddaughter Jasmine Shores; and her sister Virginia Cole. She is survived by : her husband Gerald "Jerry" Calvin Hayes; her children, Lisa Shores of Millers Creek, Sherrie Reid of Wilkesboro, Trissie Shaver of Wilmington and Robert Brinson of Salisbury; her grandchildren, Wendy Billings, Natalie Garvin, Zach Shores, Abigail Smithey, Micheal Brinson, John Ross Anderson, Dylan Brinson, Dalton Brinson and Alec Anderson; her great grandchildren, Jaxon Lambert, Elizabeth Lambert, Madeline Lambert, Hailey Paige Billings, Noah Lenderman, Calvin Shores, Camila Shores, Riley Shae Bisesi, Scarlett Smithey and Fallon Smithey; her great great grandchild Elijah Lambert; and her siblings, Julia Brinson (Bobby), Linda Hanner (Tom) of Asheville and Bill Haney.
