She was predeceased by : her parents, Daniel Carter and Mae Cockerham Carter; her son Kirk Boyd; and her brothers, Everette and David Carter.
She is survived by : her husband Art Groce; her daughters, Celeste Shumate (Chris) of Valdez and Melanie Boyd Baker of Chardon, Ohio; her mother-in-law Barbara Groce of Wilkesboro; her pet Beau; her grandchildren, Dru Boyd, Anna Shumate, Tim Compton, Forrest Shumate, Joy Paige Shumate, Tyler Bowman, Evan Baker and Ethan Baker; and her great grandchild Nola Doherty.
