She was predeceased by: her parents, John Genio "Gene" and Betty Virginia Soots Smithey; her husband Hobert Jackson "Jack" Smithey; her brother Johnny Ray Smithey; her son-in-law Jim Glass; and her brother-in-law William Hawkins.
She is survived by: her children, Wendy Glass of North Wilkesboro and Rickey Lee Smithey (Donna) of Wilkesboro; her grandchildren, Harlee Thompson (Michael), Madison Knox (Gabe), Jackson Glass, Angela Shumate (Mark) and Adrian Smithey (Abigail); her great grandchildren, MaKenzie Thompson, Ember Thompson, Maxton Knox, Imogen Shumate, Jude Shumate, Noah Lenderman, Scarlett Smithey and Fallon Smithey; her siblings, Brenda Shew (Alton) of North Wilkesboro, Gaynell Hawkins of Wilkesboro, Toni Jo Pruitt (Lynn) of Hays, Bill Smithey (Jody) of Madisonville, TN and Dean Smithey (Barbara) of Taylorsville; her sister-in-law Nora Harvel of Bradenton, FL; and her great-nephew Tucker Haynes.
