He was predeceased by : his parents, Claude Henry Brooks and Helen Opitz Brooks; and his sister Ann Brooks Yates. He is survived by : his son John N. Brooks of Wilkesboro; his brother C. Lin Brooks (Pat) of Wilkesboro; his brother-in-law Junior Yates of Wilkesboro; and his nieces, Debra Haymore (Mike) of North Wilkesboro and Joy Watkins (Doug) of Taylorsville.
