He is survived by : his parents, David Puckett and Jeanne Colarocco Puckett; his children, Dymond, Precious and Maleek; the mother of his children Jessica Jackson; his siblings, Jessica Rank (Clint), Angie Knueven (Eric) and Joshua Puckett; his aunts and uncles, Bob Colarocco (Kathy), Tommy Mitchell (Wanda), Debbie Moore, Mike Puckett, Todd and Darlene Ward; his cousins, Joe Colarocco, John Paul Colarocco and Michael Colarocco; and his nephews, Luciano Rank, Troy Knueven and Eli Knueven Per.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Adams Funeral Home of Wilkes, P.O. Box 396 Moravian Falls, NC 28654 or to his mother, Jeanne Puckett to help with medical cost.

Bettye Hicks wrote a sympathy message

“Matthew worked for me ,trimming shrubbery, planting flowers, hard physical work and numerous other projects for over 5 years. I admired him tremendously for his ability to do this after working nights at Tyson.Matthew fought an addiction and stayed free of these. His health was very fragile ,he was very thin but amazingly strong. I would take him home afterwards and we would talk about his love for his children and his ambition. But he could never quit smoking until a few years before death.”
