She was predeceased by: her parents, William Dave Manning and Arbell Jones Manning; her husband Rupert Sr.; and her son David Manning Chesson. She is survived by: her sons, Al Chesson (Margaret) of Hertford, Doug Chesson (Christine) of Williamston and Brant Chesson (Kellie) of Raleigh; her grandchildren, Will, Sara, Anna, Douglas, Caroline (Trevor), Garron, Grayson and Griffin; and her great grandchildren, Shraddha Chesson, Rowan and Rory Galler.

Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Memorial Baptist Church (109 W Church St, Williamston, NC 27892). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
