He was predeceased by : his parents, Leslie David and Lillian Dorcas Buchanan Coltrain; his brother Larry David Coltrain; and his brother-in-law Roger Knox. He is survived by : his sisters, Linda Coltrain Bowen (Roger) of Williamston, Barbara Coltrain Knox of Bear Grass and Tricia Coltrain Stalls (Stacy) of Farmlife; and his pet Baby. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
