He was predeceased by: his parents, John Foster VanLandingham and Lib; his sister Sandra VanLandingham; and his brother-in-law Jack Woodlief. He is survived by: his spouse Gail Cherry VanLandingham; his son Brett VanLandingham (Ben); his sister Karen Woodlief (Gail); his son Chris (Wendy); and his grandchildren, John and Callie VanLandingham.

Through his 12-year battle with Parkinson's disease, he further demonstrated his courage and resolve by refusing to ever give up.
