She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Butler and Ethel Lee Butler; her husband James William; her brothers, Rev. William Butler and Claude Butler; her siblings-in-law, Mabel Butler, Jean Butler, Faye Bailey Mills, Eileen Bailey Terry and Elbert Bailey; and her son-in-law Steve Rawls.
She is survived by: her daughters, Marsha Bailey Rawls of Williamston, Judy Bailey-Kinker (Alan) of Mathews, Virginia and Amy Bailey Hattem (Mike) of Greenville, NC; her grandchildren, Jonathan Rawls (Lora) of Williamston, Bailey Hattem Edwards (Doug) of Winterville, NC and Kailey Kinker of Mathews, Virginia; her great grandchildren, Megan Rawls of Williamston and Peyton Edwards of Winterville, NC; and her sisters, Lib Butler Peed (Neil) of Williamston and Mavis Butler Wiggins (James) of Williamston. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Biggs Funeral Home (302 W Main St, Williamston, NC 27892). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
