He was predeceased by: his parents, Carthene Ingalls Whitaker and Earl Whitaker; his wife Delois Weaver Whitaker; his grandchildren, Kelly Coburn and Christopher Howell; and his brother Leonard Whitaker.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sherry Whitaker Bowen (Walley) of Williamston and Susan Whitaker Woolard (Tony) of Williamston; and his close friend Susan McLaurin of Williamston. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Walker Funeral Home (236 US-17 BYP, Windsor, NC 27983). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Walker Funeral Home Chapel (236 US-17 BYP, Windsor, NC 27983).
