She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Daniel Gurganus, Sr. and Murldean White Gurganus; her husband James Kenneth Saunders Jr.; and her granddaughter Roselyn Harrell. She is survived by: her children, Amanda Saunders Harrell (Jonathan) of Williamston and James Robert Saunders of Williamston; her siblings, Jesse Gurganus Jr. (Sonya) of Williamston, Linda Gurganus Roberson (Jim) of Williamston and Patricia James (Will) of Sioux City, Iowa; and her grandsons, Kenneth Gardner and Noah Harrell. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nephews and great nieces.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Walker Funeral Home-Williamston (414 N Haughton St, Williamston, NC 27892). A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Walker Funeral Home Chapel (414 N Haughton St, Williamston, NC 27892).
