Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Gerry leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.
He was predeceased by: his parents, David Hayes and Emma Marie (Nuice); his son Stephen G. Bender; and his brothers, Richard E. Bender and David L. Bender.
He is survived by: his wife Norma Lee Bender (Richards); his children, Michelle D. Bender-Anibaldi (Vince) of Willow Spring, NC and James A. Bender of Waynesboro, PA; and his sister Linda D. Rausch (Bender) of Waynesboro, PA. He is also survived by two granddaughters, one grandson, four great grandchildren and one step great granddaughter as well as multiple nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home (50 S Broad St, Waynesboro, PA 17268). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
