James left this world on April 28, 2025 at the age of 84, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Bythan Coats, Sr. and Nellie Louise Stephenson Coats; his wife Gale Williams Coats; and his sister Billie Jean Williams. He is survived by: his siblings, Brenda Blackmon (James) of Clinton and J. L. Coats (Barbara) of Willow Spring; and his brother-in-law Pete Williams of Garner. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Coats Family Cemetery (2048 Sanders Rd, Willow Spring, NC 27592).
