It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Alan Miller Porter (Wilmington, North Carolina), born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, who passed away on January 9, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William Bruce Porter and Cornelia Boggs Miller; his wife Elaine; his sons, Greg (Susanna Vennerbeck) of Stow, MA and David (Crystal) of Atlanta, GA; his grandchildren, Cameron Porter, Jude Porter and Alessandra Porter; and his sister Gayle Svec of North Huntingdon, PA. He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Carolina Beach Presbyterian Church or the Department of Music at Methodist University in Fayetteville, NC.
