It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Anna Simmonds of Wilmington, North Carolina, born in Peekskill, New York, who passed away at the age of 90, on August 6, 2025. She was predeceased by: her parents, Sante and Margherita Franchi of Soriano; her husband Thomas W. Simmonds; her sisters, Paula Capuozzo and Angela Cerrone; and her son-in-law Bill Underwood.
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Bill Underwood (Britt), Matthew Underwood, Suzanne Price (Jim), Julie Richardson (Tim), Jennifer Underwood, Thomas Simmonds, Jameson Simmonds, Tyler Simmonds, Thomas Yetman (Amanda), Lauren Hoffman (Jeremy), Ryan Yetman (Casey) and Amanda Yetman; and her great grandchildren, Queenie, Alice, Lyra Price, Leighton, Greyson, Ruston Yetman and Milana Simmonds. She is also survived by her four children, twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Hampstead Chapel (17730 Hwy 17, Hampstead, NC 28443). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 7th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Foundation.
