She was predeceased by: her parents, George Vance Smith and Kathleen Pickett Smith; her husband Timothy Stewart; and her son George Anthony "Tony" Rouse. She is survived by: her son John William Rouse; her stepchildren, Tiffinay Jernigan (Dameon) and Phillip Stewart (Carrie); her sisters, Gail, Francis and Carolyn; her niece Catherine Adelle Parker; and her friend Debbie Bentley (Rick). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Barbara's memory to the local rescue animal shelter of one's choice.
