He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Brown and Barbara Cole Brown; his daughter Glenda Hardee Brown; his brother Johnny Brown; and his sister-in-law Muriel Brown.
He is survived by: his wife Mary; his sons, Stacy Cole Brown (Michelle) and Bruce Sutton Brown; his grandchildren, Hailey Taylor, Lindsey Best (Robert Earl Best), Chelsea Brown, Andrew Brown and Dana Brown; his great grandchildren, Emmett Taylor and Colton Best; and his pet Flossie.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Wilmington Funeral Chapel (1535 S 41st St, Wilmington, NC 28403). A burial will be held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Greenlawn Memorial Park (1311 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington, NC 28401).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Trig Star Program at Cape Fear Community College, a nod to Ben's enduring legacy and passion for nurturing the next generation of surveyors.
