Nelson of Wilmington, North Carolina, born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, who passed away on June 10, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Veronica Matave Simkovic and John Simkovic; and her siblings, Delores Simkovic Pinna, John Simkovic and Tom Simkovic.
She is survived by: her husband Charles E. Nelson; her children, Matthew Charles Nelson, Russell Gathorne Nelson, II and Erin Elizabeth Nelson; her grandchildren, Sutton Hale Nelson, Hadley Ives Nelson, Elizabeth Murphy Nelson, Charles Thomas Nelson and Ronan Nelson Ball; and her sister Mary Claire Smikovic Furman (Edward). She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (6650 Carolina Beach Rd, Wilmington, NC 28412).
