She is survived by: her husband Richard Oscar Rice; her daughter Emily Rice Porterfield; her son-in-law Michael Porterfield of Alexandria, Virginia; her grandchildren, Keely O'Dwyer Porterfield, Kirby Caroline Porterfield and Braden Xavier Porterfield; and her brother Edward Thomas Bishop Jr. (Kathy Bishop) of Richardson. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, January 12th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Basilica of St. Mary (412 Ann St, Wilmington, NC 28401).
