He was predeceased by: his wife Libby Sue Brown Ezzell; his siblings, Ruby Rich, Ann York, Minnie Ruth Moore and Carl, Jr.; and his parents, Ethel Mize and Carl Ezzell, Sr..
He is survived by: his brothers, George Ezzell and Kenneth Ezzell; his children, Paula Lanier (Alan Lanier) and Anthony Ezzell (Russell Heiland); his grandsons, Dariean Lanier (Stephanie Lanier) and Lee Lanier (Chelsea Lanier); and his great grandchildren, Layla Lanier and Hunter Brant Lanier. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
