He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion Goldie Powell and Lucy Bell Williams; and his sons, Marion Dixon Powell, Billy Simmons and Kenneth "Andy" Watts.

He is survived by: his wife Judy Evans Powell; and his children, Kelvin Powell (Magdalena), Nolan Powell (Shain), Charles Powell (Katie), Amanda Lea Call (Jason), Lisa Watts, Ariel Powell and Dawn Powell. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
