With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Charles Lee Powell Sr. of Wilmington, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 17, 2025 at the age of 84. He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion Goldie Powell and Lucy Bell Williams; and his sons, Marion Dixon Powell, Billy Simmons and Kenneth "Andy" Watts.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Evans Powell; and his children, Kelvin Powell (Magdalena), Nolan Powell (Shain), Charles Powell (Katie), Amanda Lea Call (Jason), Lisa Watts, Ariel Powell and Dawn Powell. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Andrews Mortuary - Valley Chapel (4108 College Rd, Wilmington, NC 28412). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Andrews Valley Chapel (4108 College Rd, Wilmington, NC 28412). A burial will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Greenlawn Memorial Park (1311 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington, NC 28412).
