With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Danita Thompson (Wilmington, North Carolina), who passed away on January 28, 2024 at the age of 64. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parent Deon Pertelle Stokes; her sister Melanie P. Stokes; her niece Kayellen Newton; and her nephew Corddel Stokes. She is survived by: her husband Walter Ray Thompson; her stepchildren, Luther, Ramesh and Davetta Pickett; her siblings, Rufus Stokes and Katrina Newton (Terry); her nieces and nephews, Brandy Pertelle, Atria Clark (Donta), Krystal Stokes, TJ Newton and Kaleb Newton; her great-nephews, Krystian Stokes and Braylen Pertelle; and her in-laws, Robie Thompson, Phoebe Sharpless, Tanya Sharpless, Emma Brown, Latoya James, Resheme Robinson, Demetrius Sharpless, Ricky Thompson, Dwayne Thompson, Ceaser Brown, Bobby Holmes (Rhonda), Jermaine James and Kedarryl Sharpless. She is also survived by cousins, other relatives and friends.
