With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Delores Turner (Wilmington, North Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 16, 2025 at the age of 83. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clara Everett and Alford Goodwin, Sr.; her daughter Lorrie Ann Darby; her grandchildren, Lanika Ortega and Cleveland Mitchell; and her siblings, Alford Goodwin, Jr., James Willie Bethea (Edward Bethea) and Sadine Everette Cypress.
She is survived by: her children, Ray Pearce (Talmadge "Jimmy"), Leon Wheeler, Regina Wheeler, Rodriques Wheeler and Benson Kornegay; and her grandchildren, Michael Goodwin, Melvin Goodwin, Ebony Goodwin, Michael Davis, Jernay Mitchel (Marquis Wright), Lakita Mitchell (Cherelle), James Wheeler (TaKesha), Marquita Butler (Michael), Jonathan Kenion, Laquita Kenion, Joshua Wheeler, Charlene Wheeler and Charlette Draper (Larry). She is also survived by 42 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
