The family announces the passing of Doris Helen Markie of Wilmington, North Carolina on July 6, 2026. Doris, born on January 24, 1934 in Yonkers, New York, was part of many shared moments and relationships throughout life. Doris will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around her. She was predeceased by: her husband Victor Markie, Sr.; and her son-in-law Scott Nicklas. She is survived by: her children, Victor Markie (Elizabeth) of Wilmington and Cheryl Nicklas of Forest Hill, MD.. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
