As Duane departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Duane may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Duane leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy Luse and Hazel Greenfield Luse; and his brother Dean. He is survived by: his wife Alicia Wirkus Luse; his children, Cheryl Luse of Wilmington and Galen Luse (Teresa) of Charlotte; his grandsons, Tristan (Mary) of Cary and Sean of Albuquerque; and his great grandchildren, Caroline and Charlie of Cary.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the First Christian Church (2035 Oleander Dr, Wilmington, NC 28403). A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Kenan Chapel (510 Arboretum Dr, Wilmington, NC 28405).
