With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Edward Lee Ward Jr. of Wilmington, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 8, 2025 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Edward farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Edward is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Adelaide Scales Ward and Edward Lee Ward, Sr.; and his sister Lynn Ward Pollock. He is survived by: his wife Barbara B Ward of Wilmington, NC; his daughters, Wendy W. Davis (Allen) of Raleigh, NC and Molly W. Clark (David) of Raleigh, NC; his sister Kitty W. Davis (Michael) of Wilmington, NC.; and his grandchildren, Mercer Chamblee, Ward Davis and Robert Chamblee. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
