With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ernest L. Johnson Jr. of Wilmington, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 22, 2025 at the age of 86. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest L. Johnson, Sr. and Mary Josephine Moore Johnson; his siblings, Ruth, Josephine and John; and his siblings-in-law, Gail, Ralph, Dexter, Buddy, Ray and Bill.
He is survived by: his children, Ernest L. "Eddie" Johnson, III (Sita) of Jacksonville, NC, Rev. John W. Johnson (Jen) of Concord, NC, Patricia J. Morton (Steven) of Wilmington, NC and Joseph Liriano of Greensboro, NC.; his great grandchildren, Holli, Neil, Anjali, Hannah, Jack, Walt, Naomi, Becca, Chase and Katie; and his sisters-in-law, Delinda and Sandy. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
