It is with sadness that the passing of Francis Joseph Hoover in Wilmington, North Carolina is shared. Francis, born on April 1, 1933 in Old Forge, Pennsylvania, passed away on September 22, 2026. He was predeceased by: his parents, Alphonsus Hoover and Anna Catherine Hoover; and his wife Katherine L. "Lou" Hoover. He is survived by: his siblings, Joseph Hoover, Ann Dalton and James Hoover; his children, Karen Brumm of Wilmington, NC, Daniel Hoover of Bridgeport, WV and David Hoover (Victoria) of Leland, NC.; his grandchildren, Rob Brumm (Nikki), Sarah Davis (Scott), Andrew Hoover (Cheyenne), Joshua Hoover (Christopher Jones), Rachel Smith (Scott) and Benjamin Hoover (Katelyn); and his great grandchildren, Tony, Austin, Ryley, Logan Brumm, Caden Davis, Bronson, Raven Hoover, Lawson, Liam Hoover, Taylor Smith and Lowan.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Wesleyan Chapel United Methodist Church (10255 Hwy 17, Wilmington, NC 28411).
