Gene Cain Obituary
We are sad to announce that, on March 3, 2026, at the age of 86, Gene Cain of Wilmington, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Evelyn Campfield and George Amos Cain. He is survived by: his wife Mary Cain; his sons, Gary Cain and Daniel Cain (Sarah); his granddaughter Mary Hayden Cain; his sisters, Janette Burkett, Ann Jones and Janie Jones; and his friends, Karin Brandt, Paige Riggs, Ryan Riggs, Lindsey Riggs and Karen Riggs. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family respectfully asks that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made in Gene's honor to the Disabled American Veterans (https://www.dav.org) or Lower Cape Fear LifeCare.
