He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Bruce Thomas, Sr. and Bertha Pridgen Thomas; his brother Bruce Thomas, Jr.; and his son-in-law Jessie Langley. He is survived by: his wife Mable Cumbee Thomas; his daughters, Martha Langley of Wilmington, NC, Dottie Thomas (Michael Wilson) of Monroe, NC and Becky Brown (Eric Brown) of Leland, NC.; his siblings, Billy Ray Thomas (Melody) of Faro, NC, Betsy Yelverton (Carl) of Faro, NC and Beth Kelly (Kevin) of Rhome, TX; his sister-in-law Jane Thomas of Pikeville, NC; his grandchildren, Sydney Jessee (Steven), Kendall Langley, Delaney Wilson, Aubrey Brown, Anna Grace Brown, Cooper Brown, Phoenix Brown and Thomas Zayne Brown; and his pets, Abby, Mae and Priscilla. He is also survived by family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to New Hanover Animal Control at 180 Division Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401. These donations will honor Brent's compassion for animals and support the important work done by this organization.
