It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jacqueline Batts Lea (Wilmington, North Carolina), who passed away on March 13, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Chauncey Winford Batts; her husband Jesse Floyd Lea, Sr.; her brother Chauncey Batts; and her daughter-in-law Joanne West Lea. She is survived by: her mother Opal Gornto Batts; her children, Jesse Lea Jr. (Yvonne), Kenny Lea (Kathy) and Connie Lea Williams (Norwood); her grandchildren, Keri Gore (Jon), Ashley Harrington (Blake), Josh Lea (Lauren), Mollie Lea (Jeremy), Jacob Lea (Candace) and Carson Seitter; her great grandchildren, Reagan, Bailey, Charlie Lea, Bella Robertson, Hazel Erlewine, Owen, Liam Gore, Summer, Reece Lea, Ada and Dylan Harrington; and her brothers, Blaney "Boo" Batts (Carol) and Charles Batts. She is also survived by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
