He was predeceased by: his parents, Patrick Durkin and Mary Durkin; and his brothers, Tom, Joseph and Martin Durkin.
He is survived by: his wife Beverly S. Durkin; his children, James Durkin (Colleen) and Bethann Morison (Matthew); his grandchildren, Mike Durkin, Alec Durkin and Maggie Morison; and his brothers, John and Bob Durkin.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 5th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Basilica Shrine of St. Mary (412 Ann St, Wilmington, NC 28401).
