It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Edward Carter III of Wilmington, North Carolina, who passed away on June 26, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Stella Juanita and James Edward Carter, Jr.; and his brother Doug Carter. He is survived by: his wife Judy Millis Carter; his children, Jim Carter (Ashley) and Courtney Kaefer (Jon); his grandchildren, Chase Carter (Summer), Chandler Keenan, McKinley Kaefer, Ellie Kaefer, Ainsley Kaefer and Marie Kaefer; and his sisters-in-law, Regina Carter and Shirley Marie Millis.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Wesleyan Chapel United Methodist Church (10255 US-17, Wilmington, NC 28411).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his memory to the Wesleyan Chapel UMC Cemetery Fund or the Topsail High School Athletic Booster Club.
