He was predeceased by: his son James, Jr.; and his siblings, John, Thomas and Rosemary Farrell. He is survived by: his sister Elizabeth Smallman; his sibling's children, Aileen Hogan (Mike), Patty Carver (Dave) and Dan (Mary); and his grandchildren, Michael (Magdalena Straub), Conor (Sarah Brnich), Brendan Hogan (Morgan May), Colleen Carver, Patrick and Larkin Quinn.
