He was predeceased by: his parents, John Homer Kennedy and Vera Kennedy (Wilson); his siblings, Iris Reeves, Betty Whaley, Peggy Papp, Dorothy Merritt, June Wright, Barbara Snyder, Frank Kennedy, Woodrow Kennedy and Robert Kennedy; his wife Patricia Kennedy (Fullerton); his children, Kim Crokin of Illinois, Sandy Kennedy of Beaufort, Allison Kennedy of Sneads Ferry, Jerry Kennedy Jr. of Beaufort, SC and Graham Saville; and his grandchildren, Lauren Mullen, Jacob Wiesidek, Emily Wiesidek, John Dallas, Nathan Crokin, Rachel Crokin, Kathrine Willhelm and Stewart Saville.

He is survived by: his great grandchildren, Carolina Creswell, Anaya Noman, Ziyan Noman, Rose Willhelm and Nicholas Willhelm; and his nephews, Bobby Reeves and David Reeves.
