He was predeceased by: his parents, John Laurens Wright, Sr. and Jane MacMillan Wright; his former wife Elizabeth "Betsy" Burney Wright; his brother Henry MacMillan Wright; and his grandson Spencer Mayo.
He is survived by: his wife Allene Keith Wright; his children, John Laurens Wright, III (Lucy), Elizabeth Wright Mayo (Spencer) and William G. Wright, Sr. (Missy); his grandchildren, Henry Mayo, Grainger Wright, Joshua Wright, Lauren Wright and Sarah Wright; and his sisters, Jane Wright and Helen Redwine (Craig). He is also survived by 9 nieces and nephews.
