He was predeceased by: his parents, John Marvin Kelly and Linnie Brown Kelly; his wife Josephine DeVane Kelly; his son Elmer Darrell Kelly; and his siblings, Houston Kelly, Junior Kelly, Allen Kelly, Katie Pridgen, Mary White and Martha Russell.
He is survived by: his daughter Sandra Kelly Barton (Sam); his daughter-in-law Cheryl Ann Kelly; his grandchildren, Jason Kelly (Amanda), Damion Hancock (Erin), Brittany Peterson (Keith) and Skylar Barton; his great grandchild Brandon Kelly (Hanna); and his grandchildren, Drew Kelly, JoJo Hancock and Addy Peterson. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Quinn McGowen Funeral Home (315 Willow Woods Dr, Wilmington, NC 28409). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Haw Bluff Baptist Church.
