He was predeceased by: his parents, Carlton Sylvester Newton Sr. and Dora Baker Newton; his daughter Renate Pope; and his brother Carlton S. Newton, Jr.. He is survived by: his children, Brent Newton (Allyson), Enid Walker and Dora Simon (Bryan); his sisters, Carleen Catoe, Clara McCrary and Shirley Inscoe; and his close friend Sandra Rackley. He is also survived by six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
