He is survived by: his wife Jeanine Jeffords; his children, Michelle Starling Marks (Michael) of Wilmington, Tammy Starling Van Duyn (Gerret) of Raleigh and Arthur Jackson Starling III (Michele) of Charlotte; and his grandchildren, Nicholas Marks of Raleigh, Hannah, Sarah Van Duyn of Raleigh, Steven Simpers (Tabitha) of Charlotte and Nick.
