He is survived by: his parents, Arthur Franklin Lackey and Patsy McArthur Lackey; his brother Arthur Kevin Lackey; his sister-in-law Jenny Kastner Lackey of Hampstead, NC; and his sibling's children, Arthur Owen Lackey and Airlie Hanalei Lackey. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation was held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Myrtle Grove Baptist Church (5524 Myrtle Grove Rd, Wilmington, NC 28409). A memorial service was held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
