With sadness, we share the passing of Larry George Vacek of Wilmington, North Carolina. Larry, born on February 24, 1940, passed away on July 25, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Frank Vacek and Erma Mildred Vacek (Kirschner); his brother Richard Charles Vacek; his daughter Katrina Marie Vacek; and his former wife Marilyn Vacek.
He is survived by: his children, Greg Vacek of Concord and Marla; his son-in-law John Broadfoot of Wendell; his sister Margaret Graham of Omaha, Nebraska; his close friend Janus Jacobsen of Wilmington; and his grandchildren, Grier Vacek, Brendan Vacek, Marett Vacek, Marilyn Broadfoot and Viola Broadfoot. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, American Lung Association, or Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeastern North Carolina.
