He was predeceased by: his parents, Gertrude Burns and Lawrence Burns, Sr.; and his brother Andre Burns. He is survived by: his wife Mae Simmons Burns; his children, LaDel, Glacia (Jonathon), Thynell, Jr., Cedric (Sabrina) and Jasmine; his grandchildren, D'Kyra, Jayla, Ty'Asia, Jayden, Chandler, Creighton and Amillion; his siblings, Jonita Dickens and Andre Farmer; his nephew Ali Burns; and his nieces, Jasmine Burns, Tamikah Burns, Zaniyah Moss and Ayannah Moss. He is also survived by aunts, cousins, extended family members and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church (9374 Southern Blvd SE, Winnabow, NC 28479). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
