He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hicks and Georgia Hicks (Gable); and his brother David Hicks. He is survived by: his brother Lew; his family Ithaca; his wife Karen Hicks (Pauwe); his children, Sam Hicks (Janeen) of Huntersville, NC, Lindsay Smith (Raynor) of Raleigh, NC and Sara Gordon (Bryan) of Gastonia, NC; his siblings, Margaret Hooper of Eliot, ME and Keith Hicks (Kathy) of San Diego, CA; his grandchildren, Connor, Riley Hicks, Harper, Davis Smith and Weldon Gordon; Margie.
