She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Ralph Smith and Nettie Smith; her significant other Eugene Francis Pettus; her children, Eugene Francis Pettus Jr. (Frankie), Brian Pettus (Toi) and Lori Bowles (David); her sisters, Laurie Frohman and Linda Lynch; and her sister-in-law Faye Lewis. She was also cherished by 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren who called her "Grandmama" as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
