He was predeceased by: his daughter Heather Nicole Smith; his parents, Sammy Lanier Sr. and Barbra Lanier; and his brother Sammy Lanier Jr.. He is survived by: his son Kevin Alan Smith (Robyn); and his sister Sylvia Lester Wanda Doyle (Shelya). He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and Connie Williamson mother of his children.
